Willis Dowdle

Willis R. Dowdle, 75, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. He was born September 24, 1937 in Kenwood, Ohio a son of Sarah Hendershott Dowdle of Cadiz and the late Walter Dowdle. Willis was a retired employee of ODOT, a former employee of Y & O Nelms #1 Mine and attended the Minksville Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Ourant School House Association where he was instrumental in the revitalization of Ourant School House, a former member of the Harrison County Fair Board, and the Harrison County Saddle Club. He enjoyed his hobby farm, Studebaker, horses and most of all his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Alicia Clark Dowdle; two sons, James (Lou Ann) Dowdle and Matthew (Robin) Dowdle; four grandchildren: Lindsay, Abby, Austin, and Alexia; and two sisters, Doreen (Max) Miller of Clyde, OH and Joyce (Jack) Parkhurst of Vickery, Ohio. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Evangelist Robert Main officiating. Burial will follow at Patterson Cemetery, Deersville, Ohio.
