William Doyle Truex, 84, of Cadiz, formerly of East Springfield, Ohio, died Tuesday October 2, 2001 at his home. He was born January 25, 2001 in Jefferson County, Ohio, a son of the late Charles E. and Leona Beisel Truex. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Cross in East Springfield and attended the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz. He was a member of the Cadiz Lions Club; the Cadiz Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2162; the the Jewett VFW, Post 3071; and the Mining and Electrical Maintainence Association, Ohio Valley Branch. He operated the ''B'' Shovel, The Green Hornet, for many years for Consolidation Coal Company. He served in the Army during World War II in Company G, 363 Regiment, the 91st Infantry, where he was a Corporal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Wells Truex in 1995; 3 brothers, Kermit, Howard and Lester Truex; and 2 sisters, Marie McKissick and Frances Truex. Surviving are his daughter and her husband, Sheryll Ann and Carl Henderson of Waukegan, IL and a niece, Joan McKissick Smith of Painesville, Ohio. Friends may call Sunday, October 7, 2001 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. The Cadiz Lions Club will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Octber 8, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William Hudson officiating.
