William Taggart

William Frank Taggart, 93, of Deersville, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at his home. He was born May 8, 1916 in Nottingham Twp., Harrison Co., Ohio, a son of the late William Russell and Harriet Edna Dunlap Taggart. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and was a retired farmer, construction worker and coal mine laborer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Anderson Taggart on Oct. 18, 1998; a daughter, Faye Taggart on May 12, 2008; six brothers, Ralph, Charles LeRoy, Sam, James, Harry, and John Taggart; and two sisters, Mary Snyder and Alice Davis. Surviving are two daughters, Frances Taggart of Deersville and Fern (Gene) Wood of Hopedale; two grandsons, Gene Wood, Jr. Of Hilliard and Henry Wood of Fairmont, WV; a granddaughter, Mandi (Chris) Cook of Fairmont; a great grandson, Braden Cook of Fairmont; a brother, Herbert (Joe) Taggart of Scio; and three sisters, Edna Shuss of Uhrichsville, Ella Maye Yoho of Canton and Ruth Anderson of Quaker City. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Matilda Heavilin officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens. Military Honors will be performed by the Hopedale American Legion. Online condolences may be made at www.clark-kirkland.com.
