William Arthur “Bill” Fife, 57, of Alger, Ohio died suddenly of cardiac arrest on April 19, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1966, in Dennison, Ohio, a son of the late Arthur Eugene and Shirley Anderson Fife. He was lovingly named after his father, and his uncle, Bill Anderson, carrying the name William Arthur.
Bill was the youngest of six kids. His dad died of cancer in 1981 when Bill was only 14 years old. He went on to live with his sister, Cheri, ex brother-in-law Mike, and nephew Andy Krupinski. He went to Jewett-Scio elementary, but upon living in Cadiz with his sister, he attended Cadiz High School where he played football and wrestled for the Mighty Cards.
After high school, he went on to live in Alger, Ohio with the love of his life, Alta, aka Jughead as he so lovingly called her. He was a replica of his father even though they did not have much time together. It just came naturally for him. Bill could farm, do any carpentry, and fix anything. Dad would have been so proud of Bill. Dad was worried about Bill, being the youngest, still at home, but he knew he was going to be taken care of when he passed by his sister, Cheri.
Bill was hard-working and took pride in everything he did. This was obvious from his work; his barn was amazing as he kept it meticulously organized and clean.
He left a huge hole in everyone’s heart who knew him. He would help anyone. He had recently gone to Indian Lake to help search for injured survivors due to the catastrophic tornado. He was an organ donor and helped even in death, donating his eyes, skin and bones.
Bill wished for no services upon his passing, which was much too young at 57 years old, so upon his wish’s cremation has taken place. If you knew bill, you were blessed. A staunch Republican who hated how this country is headed; his worst fear was not being able to vote to save our country this November.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his brothers, George and Mark.He is survived by his wife, Alta; stepdaughter, Kelly; step-granddaughter, Bailey; siblings, Carolyn Arbogast of Dover, Ohio, Becky Bowman of New Rumley, Ohio, and the sister who raised him, Cheri Malone of Deersville, Ohio; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law who said they were “sorry for our loss”, putting perfectly how impactful his death is. He leaves many cousins, friends, and co-workers behind as well.
He had no signs of cardiac symptoms prior to his death. His family encourages you to get yourself checked and don’t leave the ones that you love to pick up the pieces.
