William "Bill" Decker

William A. “Bill” Decker, 84, of Hopedale, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Valley Hospice in Trinity Medical Center West after a lengthy illness. Bill was born April 25, 1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia a son of the late Raymond M. and Margaret I. Smith Decker.

Bill was in the United States Air Force for 22 years. He retired in 1980 and worked for Ryder & Byline Trucking service. He served on the town council and was the Mayor of Hopedale. He was also a member of the Hopedale Legion, post #682.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, Raymond and Margaret Decker; by a brother, Roy Decker and sister Linda Appledorn.

Surviving is his wife, Debra Ward Decker of Hopedale; 2 sons: Andrew W. Decker of Erie, Colorado and Stephen W. Decker of Villas, New Jersey; daughter, Teresa E. Decker of Cape May, New Jersey; granddaughter, Kyli Decker of Erie, Colorado; 2 sisters: Doris Campanelli of Cadiz, Molly Monroe of Hopedale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023  from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz with Paul Giffin officiating. Military honors will be provided by Hopedale American Legion, post #682.
