William Applegarth

William J. "Bill" Applegarth, 52, of New Athens, Ohio, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Wheeling Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born August 16, 1957 in Wheeling, a son of the late Harold P. (Bud) and Ruth L. Kelley Applegarth. Bill was a truck driver for Jack Matusek Trucking. He was an honorary member of the New Athens Buck Club and a member of the Flushing Masonic Lodge #298 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville, the Stumptown Steam Threshers, and the New Athens United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lori Flowers Applegarth, a son, William J. (Lisa) Applegarth, Jr. of Lafferty; four daughters, Christa Applegarth (Billy) of Neffs, Rebecca (Geno) Agostini of Cadiz, Jenna Applegarth of Columbus and Kelley Applegarth of the home; five grandchildren, Emma, Alex, Hannah, Aaron and Courtney Jo; four brothers, Robert (Barbara) Applegarth of Summersville, WV, Rodney (Cheryl) Applegarth of St. Clairsville, Clayton (Barbara) Applegarth of Alexandria, IN, and Wayne (Janet) Applegarth of Flushing; two sisters, Sharon (Robert) Wallace of St. Clairsville and Ruth Ann (George) Sullivan of Bridgeport and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Monday, April 26, 2010at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barry Hall officiating.
