Virginia Tippie

Virginia O. Tippie, 80, of Cadiz, died Thursday, October 18, 2001 at Sunnyslope Retirement Center, Bowerston, Ohio. She was born May 8, 2001 at Hopedale, Ohio, a daughter of the late Earl Ong and Ruth Carson Phillips Ong. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientists in Steubenville, Ohio and a member of the Harry K. Filler's Students Association of the Church of Christ Scientists. As a youth, Virigina was an avid equestrian; her culinary skills were superb; and many of her arrangements for the Cadiz Garden Gate Club were blue ribbon winners. She enjoyed the game of golf for many years, and once held the title of Womens Champion at Cadiz Country Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Tippie, in 1968. Surviving are several cousins and a dear friend, Ann Kelley, of Cadiz. Private services were held at the convenience of the family, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio.
