Virginia Culbertson

August 2, 1912 — November 12, 2005

Virginia Strahl Culbertson God saw she was getting tired And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around her And whispered, ''Come with me.'' With tearful eyes we watched Her suffer and saw her pass away. And though we love her dearly, We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us His home in heaven is best. Virginia M. Strahl Culbertson, 93, of New Athens, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the Bell Nursing Home, Morristown, OH. She was born August 2, 1912 in Warnock, OH, a daughter of the late Alvery C. and Bertha L. Baumberger Strahl. She was a former Secretary at Imperial Glass Co., and was a part time Postal Clerk at New Athens, Ohio for twenty seven years, retiring in 1976. She was an active member of the New Athens Presbyterian Church; the Missionary Society; the Band Mothers; the Community Club; and was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty years, Samuel Albert Culbertson in 1990. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Murphy of Flushing and Sandra Tom of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Mrs. Steve) Ewers and Lori Caswell, both of Sissonville, WV, and Aaron Tom of Cadiz, OH; and three great grandchildren, Jessica Ewers, Joshua Ewers, and Kaitlyn Caswell.
