Upton Brownfield

Upton Sinclair Brownfield, 96, of Cadiz, Ohio, died Sunday, November 19, 2002 at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born June 2, 1906 in Belmont County, Ohio, a son of the late Charles and Flora VanDyne Brownfield. He was a self employed Construction Worker in the Coal Industry, and an Army Veteran of WW II. He attended the Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church near Cadiz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Kenneth, Charles, Sheldon, Perry, Paul and Harold Brownfield; 4 sisters, Grace Stewart, Edna Edwards, Mildred Whitehead and Nellie Brownfield. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Jim and Melvin Whitehead of Cadiz, Jeannette Brownfield of Lisbon and Barbara Jackson of New Athens. Friends may call Tuesday, November 19, 2002 from 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at the Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, Ohio. Military Services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
