Thomas C. Baker, 72, Cadiz, formerly of Springfield, Ohio died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz, Ohio. He was born August 20, 1938 in Delaware County, Indiana, a son of the late Francis and Mary Estep Baker. Mr. Baker was a member of the Hillside Ave. Church of God in Springfield. He was a retired Job Corps Teacher of troubled youth in Whitley City, Kentucky, an Honorary Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Whitley City, Kentucky Lions Club. A graduate of Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana, he received his Masters Degree from Ball State University. He had a lifelong love of music, having sung in Southern Gospel Quartets, and once sang for President Truman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Hazel Baker and mother-in-law, Inez Driscoll. Surviving are his wife Bonita Driscoll Baker of Cadiz; 4 daughters, Rebecca Augenstein and husband John of Augusta, Kentucky, Mary Ellen Senefeld and her husband, Tobin of Indianapolis, IN, Trisha Leek and her husband Rev. R.J. of Cadiz, and Faith Baker of Clearwater, Florida; 14 grandchildren; a sister Carolyn Schloss of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and a brother David Baker of Florida. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God, 2021 Hillside Ave., Springfield, OH, with Rev. R.J. Leek officiating.
