Terrance Erdos

Terrence "Terry" Ronald Erdos, 66, New Athens, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Cumberland Pointe Care Center, St. Clairsville, Ohio. He was born November 28, 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia a son of the late Joseph and Yolande "Tillie" Hopkins Erdos. Mr. Erdos was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Flushing, the New Athens VFD and the Flushing American Legion. He was the retired Secretary-Treasurer of District 6 of the United Mine Workers of America. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, having served as an MP in Germany. Surviving are his wife Rita Ammons Erdos; 2 sons: Ron (Nicole) Erdos of Grove City, OH and Ryan Erdos of Fairpoint, OH; a daughter, Rhonda McConnell of New Athens; five grandchildren: Danielle Johnson, Amber McConnell, Nikki, Terry and Taylor Erdos; and 2 brothers: Lanny (Jean)Erdos of Smithville, Ohio and Babe (Sue) Erdos of Morristown, Ohio. Friends may call Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday from 9-10 a.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, Ohio. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Flushing, OH by Rev. Fr. Fred Kihm. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio. A Vigil Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
