Shirley A. Chaney, 77, of Cadiz, Ohio and Avon Park, Florida, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born June 12, 1930 in West Finley, PA, a daughter of the late Nelson S. and Beatrice E. Mahan Travis. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, the King Coal CB Club, the Cadiz FOE and Cadiz American Legion Auxiliaries and was an avid Euchre player. She was a retired employee of the Scio Pottery Co. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lincoln Chaney in 1999 and by three brothers, Leo, Jim and Harvey Travis. Surviving are five daughters, Sandra Fry of Cadiz, Debra Causby of Mt. Morris, MI, Sherry Septer of Avon Park, FL, Donna Gray of Streetsboro, OH and Beatrice Swaby of Avon Park, FL; a son, James Rodney Chaney of Amherst, OH; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Vincent Travis of Avella, PA; and a sister-in-law, Yvonne Travis of Buffalo, NY; many nieces and nephews and other close friends. Friends may call Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, 154 W.
