On March 12, 2004, after 17 years alone, Ruth Elizabeth Still Shumard rejoined her husband of fifty years, Charles Howard Shumard, Sr. Ruth was born in Steubenville, July 14, 1917 and was preceded in death by her mother Ura Ritchie Still and father Daniel Still, one son Donald, five sisters, one brother, and two grandchildren. Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star, Scott United Methodist Church, and the Cadiz Garden Gate Club. Ruth loved working in her flower gardens, and each year produced numerous beautiful blooms on every plant of which she new the name. Feeding birds was another of her favorite pastimes. She was an accomplished artist working in ceramics and different paint media. Ruth was a longtime member of AARP. Surviving Ruth are 4 sons: Charles (Patricia) of Cadiz, David (Darlene) of Leesville Lake, Thomas (Cathrine) of Phoenix, and Gary (Margaret) of Martinsburg, W. Va.; grandchildren: Larry, Jeff, Deborah, David, Michael, Rebecca, Isaiah, Sarah, Christina, Brenda, Danny, Deborah, and Matthew; great-grandchildren: Kenneth and Kevin Candido, and Chelsea. Ruth was close to many nieces and nephews also. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 16, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Ft.
