Ruth Bintz

Ruth Alice Bintz, 80, of South Main St., New Athens and Lewisville, Ohio went home to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 in Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. Born in Marietta, Ohio on March 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James Sherman and Maggie Mary Wilson Phelps. Ruth Alice was a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Throughout her life she was an avid musician. She sang with her sisters in a Trio and in choirs, and also played the organ for her church. She was a faithful member of the New Athens United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clarence G. Bintz; her parents; and two brothers, Frederick Samuel and Dillen Delroy Phelps. With pride and love, we remain behind: two sisters, Mary Martha Gray of Killeen, TX and Annabelle (Tom) Weekley of Dade City, FL; one brother, Alton Emerson Phelps of Marietta; two sons, James and Nancy Bintz of New Athens; Dale and Cindy Bintz of Moorefield; one daughter Sandy and Sam Webb of New Athens; three grandsons, J.R. Webb of New Athens, Brian Bintz of Newcomerstown, and Ben (Dorie) Bintz of Colerain-Mt. Pleasant Rd.; three granddaughters, Jaime (Rick) Ross of Bellaire, Josie (Josh) McKitrick of Cutler, OH, and Kerri(Adam) Kaurich of Moorefield; and five great grandchildren: Brendon, Wesley, Cameron, Andrea and Maddi. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Athens United Methodist Church, with Rev. Charles Mehl and Rev. William Hibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens. The family invites everyone to join them at the New Athens United Methodist Church Annex following the service for fellowship and remembrance.
