Robert Mattern

Robert H. ''Murphy'' Mattern, 64, Uhrichsville, Ohio died Monday, November 5, at Oakland VA Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born May 16, 1937 in Scio, Ohio a son of the late LeRoy and Grace Mattern DeWalt. He was a member of Feed Springs Church, a retired Teamster, a union Steward for Local 407 in Cleveland, and a Boy Scout. He was prededed in death in addition to his parents by a sister, Margaret Jean DeWalt, He is survived by his wife, Shirley Taus Mattern; 2 Daughters: Brenda Mattern and Bob Beach of Titusville, Pa and Pamela Mattern and Steve Spurlock of Grafton, Ohio; 5 Grandchildren: Kenneth Kantner, Jr., Robert Michael Kantner, Brittainy Lynn Kantner, Bobby Joe Wood, and Cassandra Louise Wood; 2 Sisters: Mrs. Harold (Wanda) Zepp of San Diego, Ca and Mrs. John (Ruth Annne) Bodak, Adena; 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 great nieces, and 1 great nephew. Calling hours will be Friday, November 9, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Feed Springs Church with Pastor Milo Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Jewett. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
