Robert Eugene Grim, 87, of Jewett, Ohio, died Monday, February 16, 2004 at his home after a long courageous battle with Black Lung. He was born August 8, 1916 in Holbrook, PA, a son of the late Raymond and Nellie Longenette Grim. He was a member of the Jewett United Methodist Church and was a retired Shovel Operator for Consolidation Coal Company in Cadiz. He was a member of the Cleveland Forest No. 70, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; the Aladdin Temple Shrine of Columbus, Ohio and the Steubenville Shrine Club; a 50 year plus member of the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville; a 50 year plus member of the St. Bernard Commandery No. 51, Knights Templar of Dover; Grand Council, Royal and Select Masons, Tuscarawas Council #109, Past Illustrious Master; Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Cadiz Chapter # 171, Past High Priest; a 50 year plus member of the Unionport Lodge F. a 50 year plus member of the Nobils of the Mistic Shrine of North America; a 50 year plus member of the Gebal Council #56, Royal and Select Masters of Ohio; Shannon Council # 28, Knight Masons of Dublin, Ireland in Akron; and a 50 year plus member of the United Mine Workers of America. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry R. Grim. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Virginia Moore Grim; a daughter, Janet Raber of Stow, OH; 4 grandchildren, Laurie (David) Kuhn, Stow, OH, Lorna (Bill) England, Medina, OH, Robert (Peggy) Grim, Trenton, OH, Jody (Michael) Biggins, Lewis Center, OH; 3 great grandchildren, Jennifer Kuhn, Logan Rogers and Delaney Biggins; a sister, Jane (Albert) Combs, Great Mills, MD; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Moore, Carrollton, OH. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, Ohio, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Westling officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. A Masonic Service will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
