With that contagious laugh, those steel blue eyes, and the quickest wit, Bob Coulson could charm anyone - or any fish for that matter. Born on September 3, 1931, in Piedmont, Ohio, Robert George Coulson's love for fishing began at an early age. His greatest passion was casting his line in the waters of Ohio, Florida and Canada; and when he wasn't on the boat, he was working the lines for Ohio Power until retirement in 1992. Bob's love for the water was only surpassed by his deep, unwavering love and adoration for his wife of 64 years, Janet Arnold Coulson, four children Connie (Ross) Capers of Grove City, Ohio, John (Marsha) Coulson, of Cadiz, Ohio, Patti (Ed) Smith of LaGrange, Kentucky, and Shari (John) McNab of St. Clairsville, Ohio, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Bob and Janet raised their family in Cadiz, Ohio, and retired to the fisherman's life in Port Clinton, Ohio and Lake Okeechobee, Florida. Bob spent the last 64 of his 83 years loving, supporting, teasing, admiring, and laughing with Janet. Together they raised a family, caught countless fish, traveled the country, spent time with family and friends, and cherished every moment with one another. Bob enjoyed a perfect day of fishing, a smooth Godfather, watching his favorite Cleveland sports and Ohio State Buckeyes teams, Janet's home-cooking, and cracking jokes with his family and friends. Serving the community was important to Bob. He coached little league teams and was an active member of the community in Cadiz. He also dedicated much of his time to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving as President of the Ohio Grand Aerie F.O.E. from 1983 to 1984 and many years on the National Grand Tribunal. On, December 11, 2014, Bob peacefully passed on. Bob leaves behind a legacy of laughter, heart-warming memories and fishing tales. In addition to his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bob will be deeply missed by his sisters Marilyn (George) Monzula of Cadiz, Ohio, and Joan Slusarz Prasek of Chesterland, Ohio, his brother-in-law Charles (Janette) Arnold of Leesburg, Florida, their families, and the family of his late sister, Doris Dubinsky. Bob now joins his parents, George and Alice Ragland Coulson, sister, Doris Dubinsky, and brother-in-laws, Leon Dubinsky, Bill Slusarz, and Tom Prasek for his greatest fishing adventure yet. The Coulson family will greet friends on Sunday, December 14, 2014, from 2:00 p..m. to 6:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 South Main Street, Cadiz, Ohio.
