Robert Bower

Robert Eugene Bower, 83, New Athens, Ohio died Thursday June 14, at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz, Ohio. He was born March 27, 1918 in Scio, Ohio a son of the late Eugene and Nina McGuire Bower. He was a member of New Athens United Methodist Church. He was a retired mechanic for Consolidation Coal Company, Cadiz and a former mechanic for the former Cadiz Motor Company. He was a member of the UMWA, former member, Athens Local School Board and Harrison Local School Board and operated the Dusty Valley Kart Club, New Athens, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loudora McConnell Bower; a son Nick and his wife Lorna, of New Athens; a daughter, Lynn Hubbard of Atlanta, GA; 5 Granddaughters: Mellisa, Lori, Debbie, Kelly, and Nichole; 2 Great Grandchildren: Adam and Sara. A brother, Dean Bower of Cadiz and a sister, Elsie Leeser of Cadiz. Calling hours are Sunday, June 17, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 South Main Street, Cadiz where services will be held Monday at 11:00 a..m. with Revs. William Hibbs and Charles Mehl officiating.
