William H. Hudson, Hermitage, formerly of Cadiz, Oh, passed away following an extended illness at 1:25 p.m. Monday (7-20-15) in the Hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a battle with Dementia and ALS. He was 75. William was born October 10, 1939 in Sharon the son of William Albert and Margaret Barron Hudson. He was raised in the Patagonia area of Hermitage and Graduated from Hickory High School. He matriculated to Westminster College where he earned his Bachelor Degree. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where he earned his Master of Divinity. He later returned to the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and earned his Doctorate of Ministry. He served for ten years as an associate pastor at Hill United Presbyterian Church, Butler, Pa. He then served for 27 years as pastor at Cadiz United Presbyterian Church, Cadiz, Oh. He was the moderator of both the Beaver/Butler Presbytery and upper Ohio Valley Presbytery. After his retirement on May 1, 2005, he moved back home to Hermitage where he participated in Life of First Presbyterian Church, Sharon. Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed playing baseball and golf and attending his sons and grandchildren's ballgames. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Betty (Carnahan) Hudson and their three sons, Robert Hudson and his wife Nickie, John Hudson, and David Hudson and his wife Averi, a sister, Judy Anzalone and her husband Albert, three brothers, Tom Hudson and his wife Pam, Dick Hudson and his wife Brenda, and Jack Hudson, his six grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob Hudson, and Molly, Riley, Emily, and Jack Hudson. Bill also leaves behind a nephew Christopher Papa and his wife Joanna, and two nieces, Jessica Papa and Katherine Crowley and her husband Michael. Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (7-23-15) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc 1090 E. State St. Sharon. Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday (7-24-15) in First Presbyterian Church, Sharon with the Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Hink, pastor officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.
