Raymond Wedlake

Raymond R. Wedlake, Jr., 66, Cadiz, died Tuesday, January 4, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born August 26, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey a son of the late Raymond Wedlake, Sr. and Thekla Heiker Wedlake Mason. Raymond attended the First Church of Christ in Cadiz; former employee of the former Y&O Coal Company and Simon Scissors in Bowerston, Ohio. He was a volunteer for the food pantry, Harrison County Senior Center, and drove the Harcatus van for childrens lunches. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, George Mason and a sister, Margaret Sheets. He is survived by his wife Deborah Porter Wedlake; a daughter, Bobbi Jo Ott Brooks of Cadiz; 4 stepchildren: Tracy Carpenter of Knox, Pa., John Walker, Jr. of Adena, Ray Walker of Cadiz, and Roxann Miser of Hopedale; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren: Crickett Porter and Hunter Porter; a step sister Donna Pernick of Cadiz; and a special nephew, George Sheets. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 7 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at Noon at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, with Rev. Kirt Denney officiating.
