Raymond O. Howes, 81, of Scio, Ohio, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio died Sunday, December 3, 2006 at his home. He was born September 26, 1925 in Duncanwood, Ohio, a son of the late Henry O. and Mable Dunfee Howes. He was a retired Coal Miner from the Reclamation Division of Consolidation Coal Company. He was also a School Bus Driver for Harrison Hills City School District, a former Barber in Cadiz, and a member of UMWA Local 7690. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and attended Hanover United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Rose; a sister, Eleanor Brown; and a brother, Robert E. Howes. Surviving are his wife Alma Davis Howes; a son, Raymond N. Howes of Waynesburg, PA; three daughters, Crystal Stull of Jewett, Cindy Bintz of Moorefield and Shelly Hugh of Scio; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. Friends may call Monday, 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Zimmerman officiating.
