Ralph L. “Peanut” Crothers, 74, of Cadiz, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, at WVU Harrison Community Hospital. He was born on November 2, 1949, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Ralph E. and Rejane M. Hopkins Crothers.
Peanut graduated from Cadiz High School in 1969. After graduation, he served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked at Franklin #125 in New Athens, Ohio and then went on to work at Coronet Foods in Wheeling West Virginia. He then worked and retired after 25 years from Nickles Bakery in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs! Peanut enjoyed putting puzzles together, doing word searches, crossword puzzles, carpentry and building. He enjoyed keeping busy. Peanut also loved going to the Amish Country and on various vacations with his loving dog, Gabby. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother, Albert Crothers of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna Norris Crothers; 2 daughters, Jody (Tim) Runevitch and Stacy Crothers Smith of Cadiz; a son, Scott Crothers of Cadiz; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Paulette (Andy) Horvath of Crescent, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Cadiz Union Cemetery. The memorial guestbook may be signed at clark-kirkland-barr.com.
