Ralph Barnhart, 64, of Cadiz, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at his home. He was born October 3, 1944 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late William Amos and Anna Bailey Barnhart. Ralph was a coal miner retired from Consolidation Coal Company; attended Bethel United Methodist Church; a member of the Sons of the American Legion; a former little league coach; and an avid Browns and Indians fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Sharon Griffiths Barnhart; two sisters, Doris Ferrell and Mabel Richards; and three brothers, William (Louis), Raymond (Ted) and Richard (Dick) Barnhart. Surviving are his wife, Martha White Barnhart; two sons, Jeffrey (Dawn) Barnhart and Douglas Barnhart, all of Cadiz; a daughter, Shawna (John) Smith of Canton; a step-son, Ben Bozicevic of Florissant, Missouri; two step daughters, Sarah (Juan) Rodriguez of Tempe, Arizona and Katie (Gary) Morgan of Perrysburg, Ohio; a brother, Ronald (Sandy) Barnhart of Cadiz; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, April 8, 5-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Rodney Bowers officiating.
