Phillip B. Rudolph, 69, Cadiz, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born February 4, 1938 in Cadiz, Ohio a son of the late George O. and Edna Brown Rudolph. Phil was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church, Cadiz; a veteran of the U.S. Army; a retired coal miner having worked at Y&O Coal Company and a member of the UMWA. Phil was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by 3 brothers: Howard Neal, George O. and William D. Rudolph; and a 3 sisters: Mary G. Gross, Sara V. Dean, and Betty Dorsey. Phil is survived by his wife Louella Wetzel Rudolph; 2 sons: Elder Howard Dean Rudolph and Phillip B. Rudolph, Jr. both of Columbus; 2 daughters: Carmen Curry and Cara Burston both of Columbus; 2 sisters: Eva Jimerson of Cleveland and Emma Smith of Pittsburgh; 17 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 8, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, and Saturday, from noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church with Rev. Charles Simpson and Elder Howard Dean Rudolph officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. The memorial guestbook may be signed at www.clark-kirkland.com.
