Patty Lou Nemeth

Patty Lou (Eckman) Nemeth, 78, of Hopedale, Ohio born on June 25, 1946, in Dennison, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jesse and Charlotte (Foster) Eckman, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2024, at Gables Care Center after a brief illness. 

Patty was a graduate of Scio High School. After she graduated, she married the love of her life Ronald James Nemeth, Sr. on May 29, 1964. 

She went on to become a nurse’s aide. She took care of several people that she loved dearly. 

Patty had a love for the outdoors. She often told stories of camping and fishing with her parents at Muskingum River. She continued to enjoy camping and fishing with her children and grandchildren. 

Patty had a heart of gold; she would help anyone in any way she could. Even during her worst days, she would still make you laugh and smile. 

She was preceded in death by not only her parents and her husband, Ronald James Nemeth, Sr.; but also, her son, Ronald James “Nemo” Nemeth, Jr; her mother-in-law, Helen Nemeth; sister, Betty Green (Alfred); and Aunt Florence Malterer. 

Patty leaves behind many loved ones including 2 daughter, Rhonda (Rich) Bice of Jewett and Rolanda Nemeth (Dave Twaddle) of Hopedale; 3 grandchildren, Dustin Nemeth (Kirstie) of Scio, and Mike Bice (Sarah) of Jewett, Faith Riley (Jake) of Hopedale, formerly of Naples, Florida; great-grandchildren, Caysen, Briana and Brad of Jewett; numerous nieces and nephews; and her companion dog, Buffy that she loved so much. 

She will be missed by not only her family but too many friends to list. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery in Hopedale, Ohio with Pastor Kathy Thomas officiating. Fellowship dinner will follow after the service at the Hopedale United Methodist Church.
