Norma Jean Staley

Norma Jean Staley, 95, of Cadiz, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the Harrison County Home. She was born May 31, 1929, in Gnadenhutten, Ohio to the late Carl C. and Gladys O. Fenton Bargar. 

She along with her late husband Guy, owned Staley Communications, Inc. Guy and Norma enjoyed many winters together over a span of 40 years in the sunshine on Marco Island, Florida. There they made many friends and fond memories and particularly enjoyed attending church on Sunday at the Wesley United Methodist Church on Marco Island. She was a member of Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz where she was an involved member of the Mary Ruth Circle. She was also a former Sunday school and children’s choir teacher with the Drummond Methodist Church. She was a member of the Cadiz Women’s Civic Club and the Cadiz Country Club. Norma was a homemaker and loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy J. Staley on May 26, 2018; and 2 brothers, Carl C. Bargar, Jr. and Richard “Dick” Bargar. 

Surviving are her 2 sons: Mark (Annette) Staley of Marco Island, Florida and Paul (Rita) Staley of Cadiz; her daughter, Diana (Randy) Howell of Cadiz; grandchildren: Matthew Staley of Wheeling, West Virginia and Christopher Staley of Wheeling West Virginia, Ty Howell of Cadiz and Ian (Ashely) Howell of Cadiz, Guy Staley of Cadiz, Ohio and Kiley (Kevin Gladman) Staley of Troutman, North Carolina; great grandchildren: Brooke, Colt, Kade and Hayden Howell, Davis Staley, and Hallie Jade Gladman. 

Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 3:00p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. with Paul Giffin officiating at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 East Market Street, Cadiz. Burial will take place on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11:00a.m. at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, Ohio. The family is assisted by Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison County Home, 41500 Cadiz-Dennison Road, Cadiz, Ohio 43907. The family would like to thank the county home for their compassion, kindness and care not only for their mother, but the entire community there.
