Nancy Jean Thompson

Nancy Jean Thompson, 64, of Jewett, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at her home after a lengthy battle with Cancer.  She was born November 4, 1959, in Madison, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Dale Burns and Arlene Freiman Krall.

Nancy Joined the United States Marine Corps after High School in 1978 and served 8 years as an engine mechanic on Huey and Cobra helicopters and later as an Aircraft Maintenance Data Analysist, she met her husband Jim at Marine Corps Air Station, New River, Jacksonville, North Carolina. After later moving to Ohio with her family, she worked at Wood’s Food Center in Jewett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Mike Krall.

Surviving is her husband of 43 years, James L. Thompson of Jewett, her 3 children: Jamie (Lawrence Porter) Thompson of Bridgeport, West Virginia, Sara (Jeff) Pesta of Jewett, Jacob (Asa Kyler) Thompson of Weirton, West Virginia, 9 Grandchildren, Joseph, Lily, Aiden, Jeffrey, Hunter, Carmen, Shaylor, Luna and Raven; Brothers, Richard Burns of Merrill, Wisconsin, Roger Burns of Marshall, Wisconsin, Sisters, Kathy (Rick) Fort of Wasilla, Alaska, Mary (Gary) Carson of Madison, Wisconsin, a Father-in-law James Thompson of Jewett, a Step Mother Pauline Stockton of Boscobel, Wisconsin and many family and friends, local and around the country.

Calling hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, 172 South Main Street, Cadiz with Pastor Deborah Kellar officiating. The burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Military honors will be provided by The Tri-State Marine Corps Club of Weirton, West Virginia at the funeral home.
