Mildred Brooks

Mildred Brooks, 68, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the home of her daughter (Richele) Carla Banks in Cleveland Heights, Ohio surrounded by her family. She was born July 17, 1943 in Cadiz, Ohio a daughter of the late Edward Henry and Ora Pauline Cooper Banks, Sr.. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz and the American Legion Auxiliary at Post #34 in Cadiz. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by 4 brothers: Phil, John, Peter, and Timmy; and 3 sisters: Ora Christian, Jeanette "Nettie" Burgins, and Mary "Scooter" Wilkinson and one granddaughter, Mallary Banks. She is survived by 4 daughters: (Richele) Carla Banks of Cleveland Heights, Ricki Diane Crooms of Canton, April Brooks and Marcella Brooks both of Columbus; by one son, Hartzell Gordon Brooks of Columbus; 3 grandchildren: Dalton Brooks, Morgan Brooks, and Cooper Banks; 6 brothers: Edward Jr., Mike, Gene, and Paul all of Cadiz, Conrad of Steubenville, and David of Columbus; 5 sisters: Edwina Crooms of East Liverpool, Loraine (Hope) Wheeler of Columbus, Regina Williams and Tamara Banks both of Cadiz, and Pam Braught of Wheeling; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 17 from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 300 East Market Street, Cadiz with Rev. Charles Simpson officiating.
