Melvin A. Barr, 73, of Cadiz, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the Harrison County Home. He was born August 31, 1932 in Elyria, Ohio, a son of the late George and Julia Gedridge Barr. He was former Truck Driver, owner and operator, and was a retired employee of R.& F. Coal Company in Cadiz. He was a member of Cadiz FOE, Aerie 2162. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Barr. Surviving are his wife, Minnie Ann Sterling Barr; two sons, David and his wife, Trudy Barr and Clint and his wife, Alice Barr, all of Cadiz; five daughters, Christine Rogers of Wellington, OH, Gail and her husband, Terry Simms of Cumming, GA, Diane Smith and Andy Filippi of Cadiz, Jody and her husband, Ted Davis of Jewett, and Melody and her husband, Christy Stevens of Great Falls, MT; twelve grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren. Friends may call Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ted Davis officiating.
