Melford F. ''Peanut'' Wallace, 83, of Cadiz, died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, West Virginia. He was born August 20, 1921 in Cadiz, a son of the late Frances Mary Wallace. He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz and a Mason. He was a former employee of the Hillcrest Dairy in Cadiz for thirty six years, and was a retired employee of the Ohio Department of Transportation, after nineteen years, where he cared for the rest area at Tappan Lake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn and Anna Wallace and Mary Banks. Surviving are his twin sister, Milli Payne and her husband, Sequoyah of Dallas, Texas and by several nieces and nephews and friends. Friends may call Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church with Rev. D'Wain O. Wales officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
