Maxine J. Luyster, 75, Cadiz, died Saturday January 12 at her home as the result of a homicide. She was born June 4, 1923 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late Henry and Helen Wolfe Brinkman. She was a retired secretary at Cadiz Insurance Agency, former employee of the Harrison County Welfare Department, and the Harrison County Farm Bureau. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, Cadiz Business and Professional Women's Club; the Womens's Association at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz; Volunteer at Harrison Community Hospital; Volunteer for the Presbyterian Church Afterschool Homework Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Luyster in 1996; a daughter, Linda Kay Luyster; parents; 2 sisters: Helen Burke Tacoma and Lucille Smith. Surviving are 2 daughters: Debra (John) Welsh of Akron and Randee (Wasser) Schmitt, Poulsbo, WA; 6 Grandchildren: Meredith, Aaron, and Adam Welsh; J. Fred, Derek, and Nathan Schmitt; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19 at 2:00 p.m., at the Presbyterian Church, 154 West Market Street, Cadiz with Rev.
