Mary Virginia Wood, 88, of Cadiz, Ohio, died Monday, May 2, 2005 at her home on what would have been her 59th wedding anniversary with her late husband, Robert T. ''Bud'' Wood. She was born August 24, 1916 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Walton and Laura Moore Hare. She was affiliated with the Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz. She worked in the family store in Cadiz, Wood's Dry Goods, and during WW II, was employed in a factory. In addition to her parents and husband of 45 years, Bud, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Pvt. John Thomas ''Tommy'' Mackall, who was the first paratrooper killed in action in WW II; a daughter, Barbara Welsh; two grandsons, James Michael ''Mick'' Kondrach and John Thomas Kondrach; a great grandson, Christopher Kondrach; a brother, Howard Hare; and two sisters, Nancy Stewart and Kate Kelley. Surviving are three sons, Robert ''Buddy'' Wood, III of Bedford, OH, Charles Wood (Deborah) of Hartville, and Mike Wood (Joy) of Copley; a daughter, Patricia Mackall Kondrach (Mick) of Ft. Laramie, WY; 23 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Friends may call Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Meredith Coleman officiating.
