Mary Price

Mary Price, 89, of New Athens, Ohio, died Sunday, November 06, 2011 at Liza's Place in Wheeling. She was born May 26, 1922 in Shepherdstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Elmer Ellsworth and Mary Caroline Hoskinson Cross. Mrs. Price was a former secretary at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH, a substitute cook at Franklin High School in New Athens and a former clerk at G.C. Murphy Co. in Wheeling. She was a member of New Athens United Methodist Church where she was a former treasurer for the Willing Workers Missionary Society. She was an avid collector of dolls and Indian artifacts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Keith Price; two brothers, Harold and Virgil Cross; and three sisters, Helen Sparkman, Betty Ferguson and Florence Tomlinson. Surviving are her husband, Wayne Price; a son John (Sharon) Price of Flushing; a daughter, Shari (George) Ferda of Flushing; six grandchildren: Robbie, Jamie, Troy, Alisha, Suzanne and George; seven great grandchildren: Tyler, Tristan, Jackson, Alex, Ashley, Aleena and Sebastian; a brother, Kenneth (Ann) Cross of St. Clairsville; and two sisters, Dolly (Clive) Price of Harrisville and Bernadine (Joe) Satterfield of Bowerston. Friends may call Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jon Little and Rev. Al Hoder officiating.
