Mary Raber

Mary Elizabeth Raber, 72, of Steubenville, formerly of Hopedale, died Sunday at Labelle View Nursing Home, Steubenville. She was born May 28, 1931 in Adena, Ohio a daughter of the late Leo Kugler and Edith Thompson Kugler. She was a homemaker, a member of Hopedale American Legion and a Christian by faith. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Harold Raber, Sr.; 2 sons: Donald Raber and Robert Raber, Sr.; a brother Robert Kugler; a sister Dora Louise Kugler; and a great granddaughter, Riley Savannah Raber. She is survived by 7 sons: Harold, Jr. and Raymond both of Hopedale, John of Scio, William of Canton, Dennis, Ed, and Fred Raber all of Gastonia, North Carolina; 5 daughters: Dorothy Place of Carrollton, Doris Boals of Hopedale, Shirley Skinner of Follansbee, Linda Hall of Cadiz, and Clara Williams of Beech Bottom; 2 brothers: James Kugler of New Athens and John Kugler of Wintersville; 4 sisters: Violet Palmer of East Liverpool, Shirley Schoolcraft of Germano, Louella Harris of Flushing and Jane Valesko of Cadiz; 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 7, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Dean Blythe officiating.
