Margaret Johnson

Margaret M. Johnson, 83, of Cadiz, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born in Cadiz, a daughter of the late R. Neil and Lila M. Work Mattern. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz and was the former Regent of the Moravian Trail Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, where she held several other offices. She was a former operator of the Cadiz News Agency and was a proactive partner in the family cattle operation of J-Mar Farms in Cadiz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Anne Nelms. Surviving are her husband, James E. Johnson, a son, Douglas Johnson of Cadiz; two grandsons, Lt. Col. Eric Johnson and his wife, Jennifer of McGuire AFB, NJ and Darren Johnson and his wife, Angie, of Cadiz; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen and her husband, Frederick Phillippi, of Cadiz. DAR Services and Graveside Services will held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove with Rev. RJ Leek officiating.
