Lydia A. Mallory, 79, Cadiz, died Friday, March 14 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born February 10, 1924 in Cadiz, a daughter of the late Clarence A. West, Sr. and Elizabeth Ramsey West. Lydia was a homemaker and a member of the St. James AME Church in Cadiz where she belonged to the Stewardess Board, a Steward, Zella Strother Missionary Society and Ladies Auxillary. She was also a member of the Womens Auxillary at the Arch Jackson Post of the VFW. Lydia was prececed in death in addition to her parents by a brother James Neil West; 4 sisters: Mary Frances West, Etna Mae Lucas, Phoebe West, and Helen West. She is survived by her husband Wilmore (Rimbo) Mallory of Cadiz; 5 sons: Roger West of Columbus, Butch Smith of Ft. Washington, Maryland, Tyrone Smith and Lance Smith both of Cadiz, and Kim Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Joanne) Gross of Cadiz; 3 brothers: Clarence A. West, Jr. of Cadiz, Charles Henry West of Washington D.C., and Sam West of Oxen Hill, Maryland; 2 sisters: Jeanne Stewart of Mansfield, Ohio and Louine Porter of Columbus, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other realtives. Calling hours are Sunday, March 16, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at St. James AME Church, Cadiz with Rev. Kary Williams, Jr. and Rev. Bernard Gaiton officiating. Burial follows at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
