Lula M. Lawlis, 88, of Cadiz, Ohio, formerly of Belmont Co., Ohio, died Friday, August 22, 2003 at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz. She was born December 6, 1914 in Belmont Co., a daughter of the late Walter B. And Corella Price Murphy. She was a member of Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz, the Pikes Peak Social Club and a longtime member of the Harrison County Farm Bureau. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Lawlis in 1994; a grandson, Jimmy Horn; 3 brothers, Claire, Paul and Ray; and 2 sisters, Helen and Irene. Surviving are a son, Walter and his wife, Wendy Lawlis, of Cadiz; a daughter, Wanneta Horn of Cadiz; 4 grandchildren: Chris and Jeff Horn, Marcy Thompson and Lesley Lawlis; 5 great grandchildren; and a twin sister, Lola Major of Barnesville. Friends may call Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, OH, where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Robert Hooker officiating.
