Lucille Shepard

Lucille Shepard, 88, of Cadiz, formerly of Hopedale, Ohio and Boston, Mass., died Friday, April 27, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. She was born January 1, 1924 in Hopedale, OH, a daughter of the late John and Evelyn Francisco Gilliam. Mrs. Shepard was an X-Ray Technician Beth Israel, Boston Hospital and Simms-Arlington Hospitals. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz and in her writing, notes that she has had a most fulfilling, happy and exciting life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Dr. George Corbin, Charles Harris and Benjamin Shepard; a son, George Corbin, Jr.; three brothers, John, Henry and William Gilliam; and two sisters, Alberta Lowery and Pearl Shelton. Surviving are three daughters, Valerie Corbin May of Brockton, MA, Willena McGill of Texas and Lucille Shepard of Tucson, AZ; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a special nephew, William Gilliam of Hopedale. Friends may call Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Clark Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, OH 43907. Rev. Charles Simpson will officiate.
