Loudora Bower

Loudora Bower, 85, of New Athens, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born May 16, 1918 in Flushing, Ohio, a daughter of the late Mark Nichol and Lucille Wright McConnell. She was a member of the New Athens United Methodist Church; a graduate of New Athens High School in 1936; and made 300 afghans, giving most of them as gifts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Bower in 2001. Surviving are a son, Nick Bower and his wife, Lorna of New Athens; a daughter, Lynn Layne and her husband, Robert of Akron; five granddaughters, Melissa, Lori, Debbie, Kelly and Nichole; and two great grandchildren, Adam and Sara Lynn. Friends may call Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Mehl officiating.
