Loman B. Smith, 86, of Cadiz, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born December 15, 1928 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Samuel H. Smith and Jean Alexander Smith Owens. Mr. Smith was a retired Carpenter, ran L.J. Smith in Connotton, former employee of Harrison County Highway Department, assisted his son Roy at Smith Plumbing and Heating, was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz and served with the National Guard in Steubenville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Gotshall Smith. Surviving are two sons, Samuel and Roy (Lisa) Smith; two grandchildren, Cody (Courtney) Maffitt and Ali (Jon) Birney; three great grandchildren: Dominic and Paige Maffitt and Baylee Birney, all of Cadiz; and his cousins: Fred (Barbara) Whiteman of Scio, Mary Ruth Kidd of Scio and Nancy (Bill) Johnston of Maryland. Friends may call Thursday 5-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral service will be held, Friday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m, with Rev. Samuel Betts officiating.
