Lois E. McCaughin

Lois E. McCaughin, 77, of Canton passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton with her family by her side. She was born February 5, 1947 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late Joseph Merrick and Ellen Hennis Garvin. 

She retired as a medical coder for Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jo Ellen “Josie” Burkhart; a brother, Richard Garvin; and a sister, Jean (Tom) Henderson. 

Surviving are her daughter, Sheena (Bill) Lewton of Jewett; her adopted daughter, Alice Stout of Dover; granddaughters: Ashley (Aaron) Rayner of Louisville and Brittany (Scott) Barker of Louisville; great grandchildren: Landon and Hayes; and her nieces and nephews.

Per her request, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Fairview Gardens Cemetery, Jewett, Ohio. The family is being assisted by Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio.
