Lois M. Blackburn, 78, Hopedale, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Trinity West, Steubenville, Ohio. She was born February 14, 1929 in Stock Township, Harrison County, Ohio a daughter of the late Edward and Florence Rogers Rogers. Lois was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Hopedale; the Democratic Womens Club; and a member of the Hopedale and Cadiz American Legion Auxiliaries. She was a retired deputy recorder for Harrison County after having been with the office for over 34 years. Lois was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by 2 sisters: Mary Wallace and Myrna Hall. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Laban Blackburn; a son, L. Scott Blackburn and his wife Carolyn of Cadiz; a daughter, Amy Norris and her husband Kendall of Hopedale; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Norris of Cadiz, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 3, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Hopedale with Rev. Ted Whittaker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio. Lois was a cancer survivor and the family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
