Larry Wayne Klingler, 69, of Cadiz, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born November 10, 1939 in Findlay, Ohio, a son of the late Wayne Virgil and Doris Rader Klingler. Mr. Klingler served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era, and was a member of the Presidential Honor Guard for Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson. He was a retired self employed farmer and trucker, and was a member of the Scio American Legion, the Cadiz Eagles and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his adopted father, Walter Smith. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Fox Klingler; three daughters, Carole and her husband, John McGonigal of Pataskala, Alice and her husband, Clint Barr of Cadiz, and Becky and her husband, Jason Carr of Pataskala; five grandchildren: Emily, Jacob, Jarrod, Joyce and Shelby; a brother, Lewis and his wife, Kitty Klingler of CA; a sister, Jane Ann and her husband, Kenneth Foran of FL; and his adopted mother, Edna M. Smith of Pandora, OH. Friends may call Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Tillie Heavilin officiating. Burial will follow at Hines Cemetery near Cadiz. Military Honors will be performed by the Scio American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison Co.
