Kenneth Z. Logsdon, 84, Jewett, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Palliative Care Unit of Valley Hospice in Steubenville, Ohio. He was born July 2, 1923 in Pleasant City, Ohio a son of the late Joseph and Matilda (Tillie) Sumpter Logsdon. Ken was a member of the Harrison Hills United Pentecostal Church, Jewett; a member of the Hopedale American Legion; the NRA; and was an ordained minister with United Pentecostal Church International and began preaching in 1961. He was retired from GTE in 1978 after 28 years and served in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Theater during World War II. He was currently working at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Ken was preceded in death in addition to his parents; by 3 brothers: Dale, Darrell, and John Logsdon; and 3 sisters: Arbutus Unklesbay, Sylvia Gooden, and Alice Logsdon. He is survived by his wife, that he celebrated 60 years of marriage with on October 19, 2007 Doris E. Grubbs Logsdon; 4 sons: David of Charlotte, North Carolina, Roger of New Rumley, Dale of Clute, Texas, and Gene of Center, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Calling hours are Friday, October 26, 2007 from 6-9 at Harrison Hills United Pentecostal Church, Jewett, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. J. Hugh Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Gardens Cemetery, Jewett, Ohio. Arrangements by Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio.
