Kenneth D. �Slick� Allen, 67, of Jewett, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born November 19, 1942 in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Lawrence Randolph and Onalee Elnora Taft Allen. Slick was an employee of the former Boich Mining; a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy; a member of the Hopedale American Legion; United Mine Workers of America and the United Steelworkers of America. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by sister Kay Jeffers and sister-in-law, Dorothy Milliken. He is survived by his wife Joyce A. Kellar Allen whom he married December 8, 1973; a son Kevin Allen and his wife Erin of Jewett; 2 daughters: Patricia (Sis) Allen and her boyfriend David Hill of Hopedale and Penny Johnson of Keenyville, Pa;� a brother Fred Blackman and his wife Kim of Belmont; 2 sisters: Susan and her husband Bob Marling of Belmont and Debbie and her husband Jim Packer of Covington, Pa.; brother-in-law Gerald Jeffers of Pennsylvania; 5 sisters-in-law: Iva Yoho of Cadiz and Faye Tonkovich both of Adena, Mary Briggs of Lafferty, Diane Kish of FL, Freda Brown of Dover; 2 granddaughters; and his beloved dogs: Nikki, Bubba, Slinky, Russ, and Pooh Bear; a newphew and his family, Joey, Virginia and Logan Milliken; and a dear friend, Diane Palmer of Tippecanoe. Calling hours will be held Monday, July 26, 2010 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz from Noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Fred Blackman and Marty Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Pugh Cemetery, Cadiz, Ohio. Full military honors conducted by the Hopedale American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406. The memorial guestbook may be signed at www.clark-kirkland.com.
