Keith David Doren, 69, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his family after a brief battle with Bile Duct Cancer. He was born October 4, 1955, in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of the late George V. and Marion Walker Doren.
Keith’s love for helping those with development disabilities started with his friends at the Brandon Training School in Vermont. He obtained his BA in Science, and as a QIDP in Ohio, continued his journey for over 40 years changing lives every step of the way. With his roots in Massachusetts, he was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the Dover Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing poker, euchre, and Boggle (still undefeated). Keith had a passion for music that was infectious, and he would rarely be anywhere without a recorder handy to play, but more than anything, he adored his family. Supporting his daughters and chasing after his grandkids were among his most favorite things to do! If you were lucky enough to spend time with him, you know just how big his personality was. You were guaranteed to laugh and feel joyous with him around. To know him was to love him.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his brother, Martin V. Doren.
Surviving are his children: Ashley (Andrew Corder) Doren of Cadiz and Danielle (Rachel) Doren of Shadyside; 3 grandkids, Cecilia, Allen and Lily; girlfriend, Donna LaLonde; siblings: Anne (Wayne) Krupsky of Massachusetts and Laurie (Francis J) Butler of Maine; nephews and niece: Marc Krupsky and Christopher (Katelyn) Camillucci; and many cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz with Allison Adams officiating. Keeping true to Keith, the family encourages casual attire for his services! Per Keith’s wishes, cremation will take place following his services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Cadiz Alumni Association, 413 Oakwood Drive, Cadiz, Ohio 43907, c/o Doren Family where they will be establishing the Doren Family Scholarship in his memory. They also encourage anyone to donate to or help any organization that helps make the world a better place—just like Keith would have done.
