Julia Mcconnell

Julia Soloninka McConnell died Friday, October 26, 2001 at the age of 83 at her home in Cadiz. She was a resident of Harrison County since 1929, and loved her hometown of Cadiz, Ohio. She was born February 28, 1918 at Stewartsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank Theodore and Catherine Gulick Soloninka, the last of the family. Julia was a member of the Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz. She has been a member of the Cadiz Garden Gate Club since 1958, a member of the Mary Ruth Circle of Scott Church and Tuesday Morning Bible Study Class. She served on the Worship Committee, Bus Committee, Church Council, and was active with Scott Seniors Bus Trips and the Christian Life Flower Fund for the Mary Ruth Circle. She met monthly for Canasta with friends. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, James J. McConnell on August 1, 1987; her father, Frank Soloninka on January 6, 1971; 3 brothers, John on February 19, 1975; William on February 5, 1986; Frank on December 1, 1995; 4 sisters, Olga S. Thompson on February 27, 1997; Rosella S. Bainbridge on June 1, 1998; Marie S. Hamill on January 16, 2000; Ann S. Malicki on April 4, 2000; a son James J. McConnell, Jr. on February 8, 1999; a stepdaughter, Norma Jean M. Taylor on February 23, 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Julia Ann M. Sinclair, Temperence, MI; 6 grandchildren, Randy Sinclair, Brenda S. Lapp, Crystal S. Reece, Donna S. Krupa, Judy and John McConnell and 11 great grandchildren whom she greatly loved. Friends will be received on Monday, October 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Rev. Robert Hooker will conduct Funeral Services on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Scott United Methodist Church, Cadiz, Ohio. Burial will take place at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. A luncheon will be served for family and all attending friends. Memorial Contributions may be made to the TLC Hospice, 1209 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, WV 26003.
