Joseph Young

Joseph Oliver Young, 84, McConnellsville, Ohio formerly of Jewett, died Friday, March 9, 2007 in Stow, Ohio. He was born January 8, 1923 in Harrison County, Ohio a son of the late John Young and Mary Ferrell Young Conaway. He was the retired Superintendent of Schools in Morgan County. He was a 1941 graduate of Scio High School and recieved his Bachelors Degree from Mt. Union College and his Masters Degree from The Ohio State University. He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion, a Methodist by faith, and a Veteran having served in the Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Johnson Young in 2001 and his step-father, Orvie Conaway. Surviving are two sons, Barry Young of Doylestown, Ohio and William Young of Logan, Ohio; six grandchildren; and one great grandson. Friends may call Wednesday, March 14 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.
