John Duncan Moore, 84, of Cadiz, passed away with his childen at his bedside on Sunday, December 1, 2002 at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz. He was born September 13, 1918 in Georgetown, Ohio, a son of the late John Henderson and Mary Ellen (Mae) Sergeant Moore. He was a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church and the Hanover United Methodist Church, and an Army Veteran of WW II. He was a retired truck driver for Bedway Coal Co., Consolidation Coal Co., and Short Creek Twp. He was a member of the Scio American Legion, the Jewett VFW, and the Scio Sportsman's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, June Ann Coyle Moore in 1975, and by his second wife, Alberta Patterson Moore in 1998; 3 sisters, Martha Maxine Moore, Mary Emma Stewart, and Mildred Lucille Gilmore; and two granddaughters, Amanda Rae Moore and Sara Lee Moore. Surviving are 2 sons, John Charles (Jack) and his wife Sue Moore of Georgetown-Cadiz, and Jerry Ray and his wife, Jo Ellen Moore of Georgetown-Cadiz; 2 daughters, Linda Lou and her husband, Bill Glover of Adena, and Tammie Lee Bumbico of Adena; 8 grandchildren, Cinda Vargo, Joe Glover, Sherry Glover, Andy Moore, Ben Bomboris, Tommy Bumbico, Luke Bumbico, Samantha Moore and Gina Moore; 8 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Thelma Love of Stongsville, Pauline Swan of Cadiz, Margaret Mercer of Harrisville, and Bernice Starcher of New Athens; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The Scio American Legion will conduct Military Honors.
