John Banks, Sr.

John Kenneth Banks, Sr., 73, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002 at Trinity Medical Center, East, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born October 6, 1929 in Cadiz, Ohio a son of the late Silas and Mildred Smith Banks. He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz, the United Steelworkers of America, and was a social member of the Arch Jackson Post of the VFW. He was a retired Steelworker at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Steubenville Complex. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Jackson Banks in 1998; a daughter, Wilma Louise Banks; 3 brothers, Edward Henry Banks, Arthur Banks, and Milton Smith; and 2 sisters, Lillian Freeman and Helen Freeman. Surviving are his son , John Kenneth Banks, Jr., of Steubenville, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 at St. James A.M.E. Church, 300 E. Market St., Cadiz, Ohio 43907. Burial will follow in Cadiz Union Cemetery.
